FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Blue Light?

Blue light is high energy visible light that can be harmful to your sleep pattern as well as cause headaches, eye strain and mental fatigue, when exposed to it for prolonged periods of time. The most harmful sources of blue light in our environment are computers, cellphones, TVs and halogen lights.

Why do I need Blinx?

Although natural blue light boosts alertness and helps elevate your mood, artificial blue light may contribute to eye strain, headaches, and imbalances with your sleep cycle by blocking melatonin. Blinx blue blocking glasses protect your eyes with their subtle and comfortable anti-blue light coating, anti-glare coating, and UV400 filter.

FIT

How can I make sure a frame fits me?

There are several basic tests you can try to ensure the perfect fit for your face:

  • When you smile, be sure your cheekbones are not pushing the frames up
  • Your eyebrows should be shown outside the frames
  • Your pupils should be towards the middle of each lens
  • Pick a frame whose lenses aren’t extending past the side of your face
  • Last but not least, be sure to select a frame that does not slide down your nose

Certain issues with lenses can be fixed at home, such as the temples being too tight or too loose at the side of your face, or the frames being crooked. For any issues, please send us an email and we will try to assist you any way possible and send you how-to videos on how to adjust the frames at home.

Where can I find my frame’s measurements?

All our frames have a few numbers printed on the inside of the left temple arm. These refer to the lens width, bridge width, and temple arm length of your frames. On each product page, the frame measurements are listed as three numbers under MEASUREMENTS. We highly recommend comparing the measurements of your current glasses to the frame measurements on the models you’re interested in, that way you can have an idea of how these new frames will fit.

EYEGLASS LENSES

What type of lenses do you offer?

All our lenses are made of polycarbonate, which is a very thin, light, and impact-resistant material. Our lenses also come with the following features:

  • Scratch resistant, anti-reflective, and superhydrophobic coating
  • UV400 protection, blocking 100% of UVA and UVB rays
  • Yellow tint: this blue-light coating offers over 80% protection against harmful blue light emitted by electronic devices such as computers, cell phones, TVs, and halogen lights. They are perfect to use indoors and outdoors, during the day or at night.

What is the best way to care for my lenses?

We recommend keeping your lenses in their protective case when not in use, and to avoid leaving them in areas with high heat, such as inside a car on a sunny day. This is to prevent the lens from developing bubbles or cracks when exposed to heat.

If you need to wash them, please use mild soap and lukewarm water. Avoid hot water. To dry, use a soft cotton or microfiber cloth.
